Important Security tips in PTC
Business.
PTC business involves money, just like any other business. Due this fact, there are many thieves around the Internet searching for potential victims.
This guide was meant to prevent you from being a potential victim.
Their main target is to obtain your PTC user and password information, modify your payment Alertpay E-mail with theirs and successfully obtain all your earnings. Once your funds are transfered to their account, there is nothing you can do as, according to many PTC system's Terms of Service, every member is held responsible for their private information.
These are the most important tips:
1)
If you are registered in more than a single PTC system, do not keep the same password.
Reason: There are a lot of new PTC systems which were made to store new users information which will be used afterwards to retrieve their accounts in different PTC systems.
Even if they are honest PTC systems, there is always the possibility some hacker could get into the system and obtain the whole password list.
* Some PTC systems store passwords in one-way algorithms such as MD5, SHA-1, etc. But there is always the possibility to crack those passwords with bruteforce attacks. The solution of having different passwords for each PTC system is still a good solution because even if they obtain it by means of brutefore, they won't be able to transfer your earnings of other PTC systems you
are registered in with the same password.
Solution:
I personally use The Password Saver, this little application lets you store all your passwords in a sigle encrypted file. All you need is a password you should never forget, otherwise there will be no way to open your password file as the password used to encrypt the passwords list file is needed to desencrypt it. It is extremely secure and easy to use.
Do not forget your main password otherwise you won't be able to view its real content!

Another simple solution is to have your passwords on a paper.
2)
Use a strong password, weak passwords like 1234, buxto, maria, etc. Are extremely easy to guess.
A strong password is larger than 8 characteres, uses mayus case (ABCD), minus case (abcd) and numbers.
A strong password would be, for example: sTroNgPa55w0rd
3)
Never trust those e-mails which pretend to be written by PTC administrators that asks you for your password and login information, no matter what excuse is used to ask you for it.
Especially if you didn't request your account information in case you forgot your password.
Even if you find a link in your email saying, for example:
"you have a private message from the administrator, click here to read it".
Be careful, generally those links will lead you to a fake webpage which looks exactly like the PTC system you are registered in, if you type your user and password properly, they will successfully hack your account and obtain your earnings.
Solution:
Go to the address bar in your browser and type the PTC system webpage manually.
4)
Use an antivirus and be sure it's updated. PTC systems generally check advertisers webpage before publishing them but nothing is flawless and it's better to be prepared to such circunstances.
5)
Do not open files from people you don't know or trust, there are many trojans which are able to infect your computer and allow attackers to have your whole system information such as passwords, e-mails, user login, etc.
6)
Use a safe browser. Since Internet Explorer is the most used browser, attackers bet on this browser and use 0-day exploits to get access to other computers. Use something different as Mozilla Firefox or Opera for example. You should also remember it should be updated to guarantee the best security.
7)
Be careful with those Autoclickers. Appart from getting your account banned from PTC sites, they can also be infected with a trojan to get into your computer and get your Alertpay password.
Rembember that nobody would work on autoclickers programs nor spread them on the net for free.
In case you downloaded an autoclicker, I'd highly recommend you to upload this autoclicker to: http://www.virustotal.com/ this will scan any file you upload with 30 updated antiviruses and will tell you right away what every single one of them detect. If they detect something, I'd HIGHLY recommend you to get professional assistance to fix your computer immediatly.
These are the best solutions for avoiding these problems, I hope you find this information useful. If you think there is something to be added, you are welcome to comment about it and I will upload this post.
Here, I let a sample of an autoclicker I uploaded once to Virustotal.
Best Regards.
